WOMEX – Supporting Women in International Trade

The WOMEX project aims to improve the business culture in EU regions by promoting gender equality within export-oriented SMEs. The focus is on addressing the chronic barriers women face in accessing the benefits of international trade.

Seven regional partners, including the Regional Agency for Development and European Integration Belgrade (RADEI Belgrade), have joined forces to exchange best practices and develop support tools that will enhance public policies and business strategies through a stronger gender perspective.

WOMEX activities include the development of a service catalogue for professional women and women entrepreneurs in exporting SMEs – covering financing, digitalization, and training – as well as advocacy initiatives to improve gender equality in business.

The project is co-financed by the Interreg Europe programme, supporting the EU’s broader objectives of strengthening cohesion, enabling balanced regional development, and promoting a more inclusive and prosperous society committed to gender equality in international trade.
